Kids who train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu learn how to set goals and get to understand the value of hard work. They also learn how to learn better and how to overcome challenges.
BJJ is a sport that rewards belts and patches, which acknowledge your child’s improvement and achievements – a belt represents their effort, time, and experience in training.
For kids under the age of 15, the belts are: white, yellow, orange, green. For the child to be promoted to the next belt level, he/she has to learn and display knowledge on a given number of skills (i.e. “belt-requirements”).
Therefore, the children become aware of these requirements and are then encouraged to set goals and to work towards achieving them.
Kids who train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu develop better cardiovascular health, motor skills, mobility, strength, and will also experience increased energy and enthusiasm for physical activity.
Our BJJ for kids program is designed in such a way that each student progresses at his/her own pace.
With us – with our expert instructors – your child will learn how to enjoy training more and more, with each passing day.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu contains a progressive series of movements that improve the coordination of athletes.
Training BJJ requires learning individual grappling techniques and then putting them together into a string of movements. Thus, this unique combination develops the body’s specific and general sense of coordination.
Therefore, as your child practices single movements/techniques and their combinations, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will enhance their sense of coordination – through the development of mental pathways and muscle memory.
Kids that train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu have greater self-confidence; the type of self-confidence which will carry over into all venues of their lives.
Through a series of challenges in BJJ, your child will learn how to approach new situations and then successfully navigate them. These challenges are progressive and become more testing with each step of the program.
In effect, this format produces a foundation of self-trust in children, which increases their courage when they encounter challenges.
The success that follows from our kids program instills self-confidence in children, which then helps them better navigate their lives – both in the present and in their futures as teenagers and adults.
As an outcome of consistent training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, your children will develop self-esteem and self-respect. They will learn to trust, respect, and like themselves for who they are.
Therefore, the self-esteem they develop in training will positively impact their relation with themselves, the people around them, and with authority.
Your child will learn valuable self-defense skills through his/her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. As they train, kids will not only learn how to defend themselves in various situations, but they will also develop the self-confidence that helps them stand up to bullies.
Children that train BJJ learn how to evade, escape, and defend from physical confrontations that are so common in the lives of youth today.
