Become a Frota Academy affiliate
Do you want your martial arts academy to become a Frota Academy affiliate? Maybe you want to merge completely with our Team… Or you may simply want to compete under the Frota Academy name?
Then you’re in the right hands. Frota Academy has 7 affiliations all around the world (see them on the bottom of this page) and Augusto Frota – our head coach – has promoted over 10 BJJ black belts to the highest rank.
We are one of the best martial arts academies in Europe, a status which we’ve upheld for the last 20 years. And yet, we don’t want to keep our success only to ourselves: we want to share it with martial arts athletes, coaches, and academy owners all around the world.
We are happy to offer you a possibility of becoming our affiliate. There are two types of affiliations available: you may become a Frota Academy franchisee, where you’ll receive access to the full Frota Academy business model, marketing and sales assistance, coaching support, etc… Or you may simply compete under our name and become a Frota Academy member.

How to become an affiliate?
So you’re eager to become an affiliate? That’s great! We have two main forms of affiliation: “Franchise” and “Frota Academy Support”. Read more about them below.
Franchise
What do you get as a Frota Academy franchisee?
- Complete insight into the Frota Academy business model
- Complete Frota Academy visual identity and branding
- The right to carry, train, and compete under the Frota Academy name
- Marketing strategy and sales assistance
- Business and coaching advice from Augusto Frota
- Frota Academy network access to athletes and instructors worldwide
- Frota Academy gi, no-gi, and leisure wear
- Seminars, camps, and belt promotions with Augusto Frota and other instructors (when possible)
What are our responsibilities towards you?
- Providing business and coaching advice
- Assisting with marketing and sales operations of your academy
- Ongoing support for any questions or inquiries that you may have – at all times
- Providing the necessary tools and resources for your academy’s success
- Managing and building the overall brand development and reputation
- Holding seminars and belt promotions when possible
What are your responsibilities towards the Frota Academy?
- Paying the franchise fee and paying royalties*
- Finding, leasing and building out a location for your academy (we’ll help with advice)
- Responsibility for your academy/business growth and success
- Communicating all needs, issues, and concerns
- Regular expense and profit reporting
- Running the business in accordance to Frota Academy standards: branding, logo… At all times.
- Wearing the official gi and no-gi wear in training and tournaments
- Note: the gi cannot have any additional patches
- Maintaining the Frota Academy ethics standards

- The right to carry, train, and compete under the Frota Academy name
- Frota Academy network access to athletes and instructors worldwide
- Regular contact with Augusto Frota

- Support for any questions or inquiries that you may have
- Holding seminars and belt promotions when possible

- Responsibility for your academy/business growth and success
- Competing under the Frota Academy name at tournaments and in competition
- Carrying the Frota Academy patch on your gi
