We’re located in Zürich, the heart of Switzerland and the best place to train martial arts if you’re in the country! We also have 3 other locations across Switzerland: in Luzern, Schaffhausen and Winterthur. Feel free to take a look at all of the martial arts programs we offer.
2. SIX MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAMS
Did we mention that we have six martial arts programs? Yes, six!
Choose between Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Muay Thai, Boxing, Grappling, and Wrestling… As well as our BJJ For Kids program and the ability to use the gym (fitness) during all of the Academy’s working hours.
3. BJJ For Kids & MMA For Kids
You have a child that’s high in energy, that wants to learn to protect himself/herself… Or you simply want to get them enrolled in one of the best martial arts school in the world?
Awesome – because then you’ll love our BJJ For Kids program!
Frota Academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu kids classes across three different groups, according to kids’ age: 4-6 years old, 7-11 years old, and 12-15 years old.
Your child is welcome to attend any of our classes for a free trial session.
We also have a new program, called “MMA For Kids”…
4. OUR COACHES
Frota Academy has 10 expert coaches throughout our martial arts programs.
All of them have fighting experience in their respective martial art and they have spent a lot of time coaching our members.
We’re proud of our coaches and we can’t wait for you to start training with them.
5. THE FACILITY
Located in Badenerstrasse 434, the Frota Academy headquarters has:

a lobby in which you can sit, relax, and chat with your training partners.
6. EXCLUSIVE CAMPS AND SEMINARS
By becoming a Frota Academy member, you get access to our exclusive seminars and camps!
We have martial arts seminars (especially in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) all year round, as well as regular martial arts camps in exclusive locations.
You’ll have an opportunity to be inspired and to learn from world-renowned athletes during these seminars and camps, as well as take your technique to the next level…
And what’s more, many of these seminars are offered for free to the Frota Academy members.
7. & 8. FRee gym and parking for members
if you want to do some weight training, in addition to your martial art, then feel free to use our gym (fitness) at any time that we’re open!
additionally, there’s a huge parking area for our members, right in front of the Academy – 20 parking spaces, to be exact!
9. COMPETITION GUIDANCE
So you want to compete? That’s great! When you train at the Frota Academy, you receive our coaches’ expert guidance – advice, tips, experience and wisdom – for competing in both BJJ and MMA.
our head coach Augusto Frota has trained IBJJF champions, UFC fighters, ONE FC world champion Reinier de Ridder, as well as Cage Warriors fighters and world champions.
10. EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE OF AUGUSTO FROTA
Augusto Frota is the owner and head coach at Frota Academy, and is known as one of the Europe’s most successful martial arts instructors.
He is a 4th degree BJJ black belt, as well as a former MMA fighter, who established the Frota Academy in 2002.
Today, thanks to Augusto’s coaching expertise, experience as a professional MMA and BJJ athlete, contacts across the martial arts network, and to the team’s tireless efforts – the Frota Academy is among the world’s leading martial arts academies.
11. A WORLDWIDE NETWORK
The moment you start training with us, you become a part of a worldwide network of Frota Academy students. Yeah, literally worldwide – as we have students in affiliate schools in the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, and Russia!
We also have a number of partner gyms around the world: Team Nogueira, Alliance Jiu-Jitsu, Checkmat, Gracie Academies, and so on.
