UNIFORM GUIDELINES

WHAT YOU NEED TO WEAR
TO TRAIN WITH US

— To train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and/or grappling at Frota Academy, all students must follow a few simple uniform rules to ensure safety, comfort, and consistency on the mats.
FOR MEN
GI TRAINING
Men may train without a rash guard under the GI.
• Plain T-shirts or tank tops under the GI are not permitted.
• Regular underwear is sufficient. Compression shorts are optional.
• Leggings are not required.
• Only the official Frota Academy GI is permitted.
• Training in any other GI is not allowed
No-Gi Training
• Only the official Frota Academy rash guard is permitted.
• Official Frota Academy shorts are required.
FOR WOMEN
GI TRAINING
• A rash guard is mandatory.
• A strong sports bra may be worn under the rash guard.
• Thin, light, or transparent tops are not permitted.
• Proper, sturdy underwear suitable for grappling is required.
• Only the official Frota Academy GI is permitted.
• Training in any other GI is not allowed.
No-Gi Training
• Only the official Frota Academy rash guard is permitted.
• Official Frota Academy shorts are required.

GI CARE

To maintain quality and fit:
— Wash at a maximum of 30°C.
— White GI: white washing powder + white vanish.
— Colored GI: color washing powder.
— Do NOT use a tumble dryer.
— Wash and dry your GI after every training session.
— Never use bleach or detergent containing bleach.
— Do not leave a wet or sweaty GI in your bag.
— Do not leave your GI on dirty floors.
— Do not wash your belt.
— Training with a dirty or wet GI is not allowed.
— If the original color is faded, altered, or heavily stained, the GI MUST be replaced.
— Frota Academy is not responsible for damage caused by improper washing.
— If the GI shrinks or no longer fits properly, it must be replaced.
— The kimono is guaranteed for 6 months in case of tearing.
