Augusto Frota (born May 4, 1978) is a Brazilian living in Switzerland and a professional mixed martial arts fighter, the owner and coach of the Frota team, one of the oldest Swiss mixed martial arts clubs. Augusto Frota is currently battling lightweight (-66 kg) and is a veteran of Shooto Japan and Cage Wars. He was traded between 2003 and 2007 as one of the best lightweights in professional European MMA. Augusto Frota is black belt wearer in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and received the black belt from his teacher Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
