ACADEMY ETIQUETTE – PARENTS

We are thrilled to welcome your child to our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) program at Frota Academy. We believe that BJJ is not just a martial art; it’s a journey of self-discovery, discipline, and personal growth. We look forward to helping your child develop valuable life skills both on and off the mat.

To ensure the best training environment for our students, we kindly request your support in adhering to the following rules:

  1. Respect: We expect all parents and guests to treat everyone with respect and courtesy at all times.

  2. Punctuality: Please arrive on time for classes to maximize your child’s learning experience and minimize disruption to the group.

  3. Drop-Off Policy: To optimize the available space and limit distractions, visitation by parents and guests is by appointment only. Parents are encouraged to utilize this time for personal activities or errands.

  4. Uniform: Students are required to wear the appropriate BJJ gi and belt during training sessions. It is recommended that students arrive dressed in the gi to limit congestion in the locker room.

  5. Belt: Students must learn to tie their belts independently as it fosters self-sufficiency and promotes a sense of accomplishment.

  6. Shoes: For hygiene reasons, footwear must be removed by all parents and guests before entering the academy.

  7. Health: If your child is ill, they should not attend training until they are healthy again.

  8. Hygiene: Proper hygiene is essential. Please ensure that your child comes to class clean and with trimmed nails.

  9. Jewelry: All jewelry and piercings must be removed.

  10. Coaching: Trust the guidance of your child’s coach and allow them to instruct the group. Observe quietly.

  11. Support: Encourage your child’s effort and progress, not perfection.

  12. Photos: Photos and videos are prohibited without the consent of the instructor.
